FAQ About HIFU Treatment

What is HIFU Treatment?

HIFU stands for ‘High Intensity Focused Ultrasound’, this treatment can target various depths of the body’s tissue for skin tightening, skin lifting and body contouring. Entirely non-invasive, HIFU  works by targeting deep layers in the skin – it boosts new collagen production and collagen regeneration right at the source. It is sometime called the ‘Lunchtime Face Lift’ as the treatment is quick, very tolerable and has no downtime.

What is HIFU treatment for face?

HIFU treatment for the face works as a non-invasive facelift. It tightens the skin, irons out wrinkles, shrinks pores, targets the ‘V’ line formation and Jowell lines. HIFU improves overall skin tone, pores, brightness and elasticity.

Our Medical CE marked, FDA Approved HIFU machine targets the upper dermis 1.5mm, lower dermis 3.00mm and most importantly the SMAS 4.5mm. The SMAS is the layer that sits between the muscle and the fat, the actual area a plastic or cosmetic surgeon would pull and tighten under the knife. HIFU targets this layer without any surgical incisions, giving the patient a no-downtime facelift. Which means you can gain excellent results without any risks associated with surgery. Treatments are fast and results are seen immediately! This is why the HIFU treatment is known as the ‘lunch time face lift’.

What is HIFU treatment for body / weight loss?

HIFU 8mm and 13mm cartridges are used for the body, here HIFU energy is used to target and destroy fat cells. HIFU is ideal for body contouring post pregnancy tummy, abdomen fat, bingo wings, thighs and under the buttocks; for a non-surgical bum lifting effect. HIFU is a very effective treatment for both inch loss and fat loss – at the same time tightening the skin!

Does HIFU Treatments hurt?

Our HIFU device offers faster shot speeds and shorter intervals between each shot, this means it’s very comfortable for the patient, in fact far more comfortable and less painful than many other HIFU treatments on the market. Some people describe it as feeling like tiny electric pulses, or a prickly, tickly sensation.

How long does it take to see result?

Collagen remodelling takes about 10 to 13 weeks to significantly reduce the fine lines and improve the overall appearance of the face. The dermis will also strengthen, creating a younger-looking, tighter skin.

Only one session is required to see visible skin lifting result which can last for as long as 2 years.

Who is a suitable candidate for HIFU skin lifting treatment?

This treatment provides the best result for older people with moderate skin laxity with facial fat. However, HIFU treatment is also suitable for people under the age of 40 who wish to take preventive measures to stimulate collagen production in the skin and strengthen the dermis to delay the onset of aging.

Is There Any Downtime or Side Effects?

HIFU treatment is a safe treatment because it does not break the skin. Furthermore, no foreign body is introduced into the body.

However during the treatment, the skin that comes in contact with the transducer will be heated to a consistent temperature of 60-70 degrees Celcius throughout the treatment. Immediately after the treatment, the skin may appear red or flushed but it should subside within a few hours.
